Join Clarion's free half-day seminar aimed to simplify and improve the understanding of ESG in Manufacturing, and give solutions for identification, measurement, and implementation of ESG infrastructure for short and long-term growth.

ESG will no doubt already form part of the business strategy for many in the sector, and whilst it might not be fully formed, manufacturers have always had sustainable and responsible practices at the top of their agendas. But now it's time for al those in the industry to collaborate and commit to wider ESG strategies to make ongoing positive changes for good.

To help manufacturers fully grasp each element of ESG and implement practical plans for future growth, Clarion is hosting a half-day seminar - Shining the ESG Spotlight on Manufacturing - on Wednesday 4th October 2022.

 

Keynote speaker - Dr Sophie Dale-Black , Director - UK Network, British Business Bank

Dr Sophie Dale-Black is a Director within the British Business Bank’s UK Network, leading a team of senior managers in working with key organisations across the Midlands and the North of England to help the Bank understand and overcome the challenges facing smaller businesses in their access to finance journey.

Environmental session - Chris Paddey, Managing Director, PADD Energy, part of Anthesis

Chris is the Managing Director of Padd Energy Ltd., part of Anthesis, a Net Zero consultancy firm delivering tailored and detailed decarbonisation route maps across the public and private sectors. Chris offers expert advice on how to develop renewable and thermal power and energy projects from concept to commissioning worldwide. Chris has regularly advised on power and energy strategy throughout the UK, Europe and worldwide.

Chris has over 30 years’ experience in the power and energy sectors and is a Chartered Civil Engineer. He is an experienced Global Business Director in the traditional power, renewable energy, and sustainability sectors.

Environmental session - Christian Hellmund, Partner and Head of Energy & Projects, Clarion

Christian is a non-contentious energy lawyer and Head of Clarion’s Energy & Projects team. He advises on national and international low carbon infrastructure projects and has many years of experience of helping developers, investors, energy suppliers, equipment manufacturers and public authorities in a wide range of sectors, including manufacturing. Christian has a passion for the environment and renewable energy and as such his knowledge in this area is extensive.

Social session - Steve Freer, CEO & Co-founder, Tempus Novo and Valdemar Wawrosz , Managing Director & Co-founder, Tempus Novo

Steve and Val have nearly 60 years' experience working in some of Britain’s toughest prison, where they recognised that many repeat offenders came from poverty and that crime was often a lifestyle passed on by previous generations.

Together they founded Tempus Novo, which operates within the prison system to identify offenders committed to transforming their lives. Upon release, these prisoners continue to work with Tempus Novo to gain employment whilst also receiving hands on mentorship and support for a minimum of 12 months.

The Tempus Novo model is based on being bespoke, personal and sustainable. Working with a growing number of employers in and around Yorkshire who share the same vision and are willing to give ex-offenders a second chance. Tempus Novo have had amazing success over the past 8 years and have now placed 700 ex-offenders into full time sustainable jobs.

Governance session - Astrid Wynne, Sustainability Lead, Techbuyer

Astrid is a Chartered Environmentalist and full member of IEMA. As a Sustainability Lead at Techbuyer, she is responsible for the sustainability performance of the company internally and in the wider market. Chair of the Sustainability Special Interest Group at the Data Centre Alliance and a board member of Free ICT Europe, she has co-written a number of academic papers on circular economy and energy efficiency for servers and represent Techbuyer as full partner in the CEDaCI project, a 4.5 year Interreg NW funded research project that spans 7 countries.

Techbuyer is a global provider of sustainable IT solutions and computer hardware with the circular economy at its core. Its new and high-quality refurbished IT parts and devices offer a sustainable alternative to improve the impact of technology on the planet.

Governance session - Matthew Hattersley, Partner and Head of the Commercial team, Clarion

Matthew heads up Clarion’s Commercial team and advises businesses on a full range of commercial and supply chain contract matters across a wide range of sectors, including manufacturing, retail, logistics and technology. Using his years of experience, Matthew makes sure businesses have good governance and compliance, including ethical supply chains, and gives sound advice to businesses not only wanting the right policies in place, but training and upskilling the right people in the team to spot the risks.
