The advanced metals industry underpins most of the UK’s manufacturing sector – it plays a pivotal role in vital sectors such as energy & renewables and defence, and its continued success enhances UK resilience.

The metals sector does however face new challenges with rising increases in energy, supply chain, ESG etc ultimately impacting the price of metals. Many of these challenges have been as a consequence of the war in the Ukraine which accounted for around 2% of worldwide crude steel output.

At the heart of the UK metals sector is the regional manufacturing community, who will share their perspectives on how all these dynamics are playing out and the threats and opportunities for the manufacturing sector going forward.
